Leeds United's versatile full back Gaetano Berardi has revealed his joy at receiving the Leeds player of the month award for February and hopes that he can keep his place in the side, according to The Morley Observer and Advertiser.

Gaetano Berardi is naturally a right back but he has been deployed at left back in the absence of the injured Charlie Taylor over the past several weeks and his performances have impressed the Leeds United faithful.

With Charlie Taylor now back to full fitness, Garry Monk has a dilemma over who to play in his back four.

Luke Ayling, who is Leeds United's first choice right back, has also been a top performer this season so there are three good options for just two full back spots.

Berardi acknowledged that Monk would have a selection dilemma but added that he hoped he could keep his place in the side after his top displays in recent games.

Berardi said:

“I’ve played a lot of games at left-back and I am confident playing there and I am just trying to do my best like everyone else.

“Of course I want to keep my place in the team now, but that is up to the gaffer and I don’t want to put pressure on anyone, because it is not an easy job for him to pick the team.

“I just need to continue to train and work hard like I have been doing.”
