Leeds United saw Sheffield United roll into Elland Road and take all three points in a crucial top of the table clash yesterday.

Despite a dominant first half, the Whites couldn't take advantage of their performance and failed to trouble goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who kept a seventh successive clean sheet for the Blades.

A Chris Basham goal was enough for Chris Wilder's men to take all three points back to Sheffield and move them into second place in the Championship table, and Leeds will have to hope for the Blades to drop points between now and the end of the season if they are to haul them back in.

However, striker Patrick Bamford appeared to remain confident and upbeat following the defeat, as the £8m man took to Twitter to voice some of his thoughts on the performance and defeat.

Bamford had been in fine form since coming back into the team following injury, but failed to get any sort of change out of the likes of John Egan and Jack O'Connell yesterday, as the Blades once again showed their defensive mettle.

The Verdict

This is nice enough to see from Bamford, but he needs to do more than he did yesterday to be honest.

He was quiet and very rarely looked a threat as the supposed spearhead of the Leeds attack.

At the money they paid, you'd expect more, and Bamford will be key if Leeds are to get back into the top two in the coming weeks.
