Leeds United enjoyed a stellar month in December and that has been capped off with Pontus Jansson taking the PFA Fans' Player of the Month Award for the month.

The men from Elland Road had perhaps wondered whether they were going to make the play-offs earlier this year when they were in a real rut.

Indeed, the likes of Pontus Jansson were really struggling for form and confidence with the Swede even admitting himself that he was below par.

December saw a return to what the club can do though, and the Swede was central to that with some commanding performances at the back.

It's only right then, that he's been handed the award:

Jansson earned 31% of the award for the month of December as he won against five other nominees.

The likes of Gary Madine and Chris Maxwell were in the list with the former hitting four goals and the latter keeping a number of clean sheets.

Neither did enough to beat Jansson in the fans' minds, though, and the Swede takes home the accolade.

Let's see now if he can continue that form into the rest of 2018 and towards the play off fight.
