Leeds United remain set on returning to the Premier League for the first time in 15 years this season and need to see out just ten more games to achieve that.

They currently sit in second place with just ten matches left of the season, two points ahead of Sheffield United in third place and two behind league-leaders Norwich City.

They face relegation threatened Reading at the Madjeski tonight as they look to move a step closer to that much-desired promotion.

One player who has been absolutely crucial in their brilliant season so far has been centre-back and club captain Liam Cooper.

The 27-year-old has made 27 appearances so far this season, scoring three goals along the way and earning the praise of manager Marcelo Bielsa as well.

He became just the 12th player in the club’s history to captain the Whites to 100 matches last weekend and the Argentinian dubbed him the “ultimate professional”.

But how will such praise have made Cooper feel?

With plenty of praise falling the way of Pontus Jansson this season, it is refreshing to see some go the way of Cooper.

And following his manager’s praise he will surely be immensely proud. To get feedback like that from a manager of Bielsa’s experience and calibre is not to be sniffed at.

Leeds will need the likes of Cooper playing to the absolute best of their abilities and this praise will only help.
