Leeds United keeper Kiko Casilla escaped without injury after he was involved in a car crash earlier today.

The Yorkshire Evening Post revealed that the Spaniard was part of a two-car collision on the A58 Leeds Road but he has not suffered any injuries, whilst the driver of the other car is also unhurt.

The report also states that Casilla went over to help that passenger, who was a woman with her kid in the car.

This incident came after the former Real Madrid man played the full 90 minutes for Marcelo Bielsa's side as they beat League Two outfit Salford in the Carabao Cup last night.

There had been serious doubts about the future of the 32-year-old this summer after Casilla endured a tough first few months in England after signing in January.

However, with the transfer window shut and Casilla the number one for the Yorkshire club, it seems as though he will be at Elland Road for at least the remainder of this season as he looks to help the team to the Premier League.

The Verdict

Obviously this had the potential to be a serious issue so it's a big relief for all concerned that nobody has been injured.

From Leeds' perspective, they will be delighted there's nothing wrong with the stopper and he is sure to be thinking ahead to the weekend clash at Wigan .

After a turbulent summer, Casilla is the number one this season, although he will still feel he can improve on his three performances so far in this campaign.
