Leeds United suffered a bitter blow in the final few weeks of the latest Sky Bet Championship season as they agonisingly fell away from the play-off places.

Since then, manager Garry Monk has relocated and will now enter the new season in charge of promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough, while Thomas Christiansen will be in charge of guiding Leeds to a top six finish.

An early appointment was needed for the Yorkshire side so that the manager given the role could really put his stamp on the side and recruit his own set of players.

So far, there has been one arrival under the former Barcelona player but another man Christiansen should try to bring to England is Real Betis full-back Riza Durmisi.

The left-back could be an option to replace the Premier League bound Charlie Taylor who looks set to complete a move to Burnley if reports are anything to go by.

Durmisi is a Danish international so Christiansen is likely to have knowledge about the defender who has featured just under 20 times for his country.

Last season he was part of the Real Betis side which narrowly avoided relegation to Spain's second division so the 23-year-old may be looking for a new challenge, one which includes much more time spent at the other end of the table.

The left-back certainly isn't short of pace and could fit right into the Leeds outfit who will be desperate to achieve their ultimate aim of gaining promotion back to the Premier League.
