Leeds United are looking set to sign Middlesbrough forward Patrick Bamford, and after a summer long chase for Matej Vydra, it appears their search for a striker could well be over.

Bamford might not have had quite the season that Vydra had last term, but he is still a very talented performer, and with the addition of Barry Douglas yesterday, things could be looking up for the Whites.

However, Leeds are looking to challenge for promotion and even more new signings could well be needed for new manager Marcelo Bielsa, and we at FLW think the club should not simply stop at adding one new striker.

Indeed, we think that Derby County forward Chris Martin might well be the perfect foil for Bamford if the deal does get over the line.

Martin spent much of last season on loan with Fulham but is now back with the Rams as they seek a run at promotion under new manager Frank Lampard.

The big Scottish forward is a seasoned professional at Championship level, and despite some attitude problems of sorts in the last few years, he does get goals, something Leeds need.

His size, presence, and ability in front of goal make Martin a superb addition for most Championship clubs, and the thought of seeing the Rams striker alongside Bamford in a Leeds jersey is something that Whites fans could really get excited about.

Leeds fans, what do you think? Would you take Martin? Let us know in the comments!
