Leeds are looking to push on towards the play-offs this year and are buying from the international market in order to get there.

The club were rocked by manager Garry Monk's decision to leave following the conclusion of the 2016/17 season.

Monk has only been given a one-year contract at Elland Road, and despite plans to extend it, he handed in his resignation and left to join Middlesbrough.

Thomas Christiansen has been appointed as his replacement and will hope to do one better than Monk and push Leeds into the top six.

There's been plenty of transfer activity from him, bring in nine players already this season, on three of whom have actually played professionally in England before.

It's thus very obvious that the club are exploiting the international market this summer, and they should continue in this vein by signing Niclas Eliasson from IFK Norrkoping.

The Swedish first division is only 14 games into its campaign, but youngster Eliasson has made a stunning start and his been the stand out player so far.

The 21-year-old has scored three times and completed nine assists this season, demonstrating an outstanding end product to his game, amongst his explosive pace.

He plays predominantly on the left hand side but can also play on the right or in a number 1o role.

He's a set piece taker and can also play a mean pass.

Leeds have just three wingers in their squad in Hadi Sacko, Stuart Dallas and Kemar Roofe, and could do with one more.

They should leap on a deal for Eliasson before bigger clubs begin to take notice of his talents.
