Leeds United have had a brilliant start to this season's Sky Bet Championship campaign and currently find themselves sitting in sixth place in the table after picking up eight wins from the opening 16 league games.

Optimism is certainly flowing around Elland Road as it appears the sleeping giants are slowly starting to awaken under the guidance of former Swansea boss Garry Monk.

Many of the Leeds United faithful are very hopeful that the club will be able to secure a play-off spot at the very least come the end of the season although the squad may need a little strengthening in January if they are to keep up their good form.

The Leeds roster could become thin on the ground if they suffer a couple of injuries plus Monk will want to improve the overall standard of his squad and increase competition for places.

Leeds should look to take a dip into the Scottish market and in particular they should consider poaching one or two players from Scottish Premier League champions Celtic.

This article is going to take a look at two players Leeds could look to poach from Celtic in January.

AdTech AdTom Rogic

Australian Tom Rogic has done nothing but impress for Celtic since breaking into the first team last season and is certainly someone who looks to have the quality to make a successful move to the English leagues.

Last season, Rogic made 39 appearances for The Bhoys in all competitions, netting a very respectable 10 goals in the process.

Rogic is not blessed with the greatest pace, but what he lacks in pace he makes up for with an excellent footballing brain and technical ability to match.

Rogic has continued his good form into the current campaign and has already netted 7 times for club in just 19 appearances.

Before joining the club he represented the Central Coast Mariners back in his home country of Australia, for whom he made 27 appearances, scoring 5 goals.

He is also a vital cog in the Australian national team and has been capped 22 times by the Socceroos, bagging 4 goals in the process.

Gary Mackay-Steven

Another player that Garry Monk's Leeds United could look to pluck from Scottish giants Celtic is wideman Gary Mackay-Steven.

The 26-year-old is very much on the fringes of Brendan Rodgers' squad and is likely to be interested in the move to give himself a greater chance of regular first team football.

He can play on either flank or even behind the striker, and would add versatility to the squad.

Mackay-Steven has been capped only once for the Scotland national team and I'm sure he will be harbouring hopes of a recall to the squad one day - something which a move to England could help with.

He is a good source of goals from the wide areas and, despite failing to hold down a regular starting place at the Scottish giants, he has scored ten goals in 52 appearances for The Bhoys
