Leeds United are set to be boosted by the return of Samuel Saiz this weekend, with the Spanish playmaker returning to training ahead of the clash with Bolton Wanderers tomorrow.

A hamstring injury had kept Saiz out of Leeds’ defeat to Sheffield Wednesday prior to the international break, however, Heckingbottom has revealed that the 27-year-old has been training at 95% ahead of tomorrow’s visit of Bolton, with Leeds hopeful of managing him through the contest.

The club’s official Twitter account (@LUFC) have moved to share an update on Saiz, with the Spaniard pictured in training ahead of tomorrow’s clash.

Saiz has enjoyed a successful first season in English football, scoring five goals and adding six assists in the Sky Bet Championship, proving to be one of very few positive for Leeds during the 2017/18 campaign.

Leeds have picked up just one victory in 2018, which has led to the Whites sliding from the play-offs to 14th in a matter of months, with a mid-table finish seemingly inevitable at Elland Road.

Tomorrow’s clash with Bolton will be the start of the run-in, with Leeds having eight fixtures of the season remaining.

The Verdict

Leeds haven’t seen nearly enough of Saiz in 2018, with injuries and suspensions hindering the forward’s involvement.

That has cost Leeds, who have really missed Saiz when he hasn’t been available this season.

Seeing the 27-year-old back in action tomorrow afternoon will be a big boost for the Whites.
