Leeds United look set to announce the signing of Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, according to the Yorkshire Post.

The full-back spent much of last term on loan with Championship side Wolves, but failed to make much of an impression as the Molineux side struggled for form throughout the campaign.

However, the 20-year-old looks set to be given another chance in the second tier as Leeds and their new manager Thomas Christiansen look to build on what was a disappointing end to the campaign under Garry Monk last time out.

Borthwick-Jackson will join Leeds on a loan deal for the season, where he will be hoping to make more of an impression than he managed at Molineux.

Highly rated at Manchester United, Borthwick-Jackson made his debut for the club back in 2015. He has since gone on to make ten appearances for his parent club, but another loan spell will no doubt do him the world of good as he looks to progress his young career.

Leeds open their Championship campaign with a tricky trip to newly promoted Bolton. They will be looking to get off to a positive start as they once again look to mount a challenge for the top six.
