Leeds United have reportedly reignited their interest in striking a deal with Liverpool to sign winger, Ryan Kent according to Football Insider.
It had previously been reported by The Scottish Sun, that Rangers had the first option to sign Kent on loan, if Jurgen Klopp was willing to allow his departure on a temporary basis for another season.
The 22-year-old made 27 league appearances for Steven Gerrard’s team last term, scoring six goals, as they finished 2nd in the Scottish Premier League.
But with no deal currently in place for Kent to sign with the Gers again, Marcelo Bielsa is reportedly keen to come to an agreement with the youngster before the transfer window closes.
Leeds will be targeting a long-awaited return to the Premier League, after they narrowly missed out on promotion last season, as they were beaten by Derby County in their play-off semi-final at Elland Road.
It means that Bielsa has got strength in depth in that area, but if they were to add Kent to their squad, then it would give the Leeds boss a welcome selection dilemma for much of the 2019/2020 season.
Leeds get their new league campaign underway against Bristol City, in what could potentially be a tricky opening fixture for the Whites.
This would be a good signing for Leeds, but do they need another winger?
They’ve already got Costa, Harrison, Clarke and Hernandez, so I’m not convinced that Kent is a player that they actually need at this moment in time.
Surely Bielsa should be targeting more defensive reinforcements before the new season kicks off?
