Leeds United could be set to dive into the free transfer market, with their eyes set on former Arsenal forward Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, according to HITC.
The Yorkshire club are said to be interested in the striker, who was let go by Bristol City after being a major player in their promotion campaign.
JET was released from Bristol having scored 9 goals in 12 starts for the League One winners, who decided to let the player go to make sure he could gain first team opportunities next season.
Bristol boss could not praise the forward enough after letting him leave the club and said to Birmingham Mail: “He’ll get sorted out with a new club for sure, and if he gets a deal with one of the clubs I’ve been speaking to then I’d be delighted for him.
“I’ve certainly given good recommendations for him, including to a chairman. He’d do a cracking job for them.”
The 24-year-old who can fill a variety of positions including winger and striker would be a perfect acquisition for Leeds United, who lack both pace and width in their side, along with his ability to grab goals he could be the perfect signing at Elland Road.
Leeds are set to rival the likes of Forest and Birmingham for the talented striker, who will not be short of options this summer.
Whether he can agree to the Cellino way of thinking and contracts based on bonuses is another hurdle. But the opportunity of regular football and being a star striker at the club, JET could see his new home residing in Yorkshire.
