Sky Bet Championship side Leeds United are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Jese Rodriguez, according to reports from Estadio Deportivo.

The Whites are preparing for life in the Championship for yet another season, with a decision on future of Marcelo Bielsa set to be made imminently after missing out on promotion to the Premier League.

And, if the Argentine does stay as the boss at Elland Road, then it is claimed that he will reignite interest in a player that was reportedly on his radar in January.

Rodriguez is a player with a huge amount of pedigree - the 26-year-old came through the ranks at Real Madrid, making over 80 appearances for the La Liga giants before his £21million move to PSG in 2016.

But after underwhelming loan spells with Stoke City, and most recently Real Betis, the attacker now finds himself massively out of favour at the Parc Des Princes, behind massive competition in Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Leeds were reportedly interested in signing Rodriguez back in January, but the Spaniard made the move to Betis rather than a switch to Elland Road.

But now, reports claim that Leeds are set to go back for the exciting forward in the summer, with Bielsa keen to make another move on the winger.

The Whites are looking to strengthen their wide areas, with long-term transfer target Dan James set to move to Manchester United from Swansea this summer.

The Verdict

This would be a huge statement of intent by Leeds if they were to sign Jese Rodriguez.

He has endured a tricky couple of years, but there is no doubting the fact that he would be one of, if not the best players in the Championship if he signed for Leeds.

If they can manage to sign him and afford to pay his wages, then this would be an unbelievable signing.
