Leeds United will not be signing Derby County star Harry Wilson this summer according to David Anderson of The Mirror.

Wilson is not expected to return to Pride Park once his loan expires in the summer, with Anderson reporting that he will push for a permanent move to a top-flight side.

The 22-year-old netted 14 times in the Championship as he helped Frank Lampard's side to the play-off final where they were narrowly beaten by Aston Villa.

Some good news for Leeds ahead of the transfer window arrived earlier this week, however.

Although they fell short during the previous season - losing to the Rams in the play-off semi-finals - the club announced that manager Marcelo Bielsa will be staying at Elland Road for the Road 2019/20 season.

The Argentinian had an enormous impact at the club, transforming them into one of the most exciting teams in England to watch and endearing himself to the fans with his eventful press conferences.

The verdict

This was always going to be a long-shot for the Whites so it should not prove to be much of a disruption.

It is crucial that they have a good summer transfer window and execute Marcelo Bielsa's plan as close to  perfectly as they can.

With him sticking around they have an excellent chance of winning promotion but they must get it right.
