Leeds United sit third in the Championship ahead of a two-week interval to accommodate the second round of international fixtures.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men surrendered top stop after their 1-1 draw at home to Brentford on the weekend and were leapfrogged by Sheffield United, who are the new leaders, and West Bromwich Albion, who now occupy second spot.

The international break comes at a good time for United who won just two of their seven matches since the league resumed after the two-week break back in August.

With several players out injured, the second-tier hiatus will allow those players to edge closer to full fitness and look to be back in the side for the visit to Ewood Park on October 20.

Domestic football may have paused temporality, but there is still a lot going on to keep you going through the international break.

With that said, in this next round-up, we take a quick look at all things Leeds from the past week.

Having beaten Hull City in midweek a tough looking fixture at home to Brentford was next for Bielsa and his boys.

Luke Ayling was sent off late on as Pontus Jansson scored an 88th-minute equaliser to snatch a point against an impressive Bees side.

And head coach Bielsa had his say on the draw.

During the match, Ollie Watkins was adjudged to have been fouled, with referee Jeremy Simpson awarding a contentious spot-kick to the away side.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell was beaten by Neal Maupay to give the London side the lead.

And after the match, he tweeted a response to the decision and praised the character of his side in the home draw.

The statement from the young goalkeeper certainly got the Leeds fans talking and replying to his initial tweet.

In other news, in a rare interview, Leeds’ director of football Victor Orta has unveiled the three criteria he abides by when looking for potential transfer targets.

And finally, after their impressive personal performances in September, Leeds duo Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson are have been nominated for the  September PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award.

Fans can register their vote here until October 10 at 8:00 AM.

By voting, there is also a chance to present the winner with the award.

And with two Leeds players in the running, there is double the chance for one of the two to win, and for a fan to present the award to one of their heroes.
