Leeds United are said to be rivalling Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County to the potential signing of Sheraldo Becker according to The Mirror.

Becker is out of contract at the end of the season, and is unlikely to sign a new deal with Dutch side, Den Haag in the near future.

It has previously been reported by the Teeside Gazzette that Boro were the first team to register their interest in signing the 24-year-old.

But it seems as though a number of other Championship clubs are keeping tabs on the winger, who has been in good form of late.

Becker finished the season on seven goals and eight assists, as Den Haag finished 9th in the Dutch top-flight.

It's certainly not going to be the last we hear of this transfer rumour, with his contract nearing a conclusion this summer.

The winger has also represented Netherlands at youth level, and evidently has a bright future ahead of him, if he is attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs.

If he opts to join Derby, then he could well be a Premier League player by next season, with the Rams taking on Aston Villa for a place in the top-flight at Wembley later this month.

The Verdict:

He's clearly got something about him to attract interest from these clubs.

Leeds in particular could be a potential destination for him, as they're arguably one of the biggest teams in English football.

It's going to be a closely-fought battle to sign him in the summer, and the clubs interested can't afford to waste anytime in signing him, as he's evidently a player in demand.
