Stuart Dallas has received an international call up to the Northern Ireland squad, after making a strong impact on his return to the Leeds United starting XI.

Northern Ireland will take on South Korea on March 24th, with Dallas once again set to be involved in the squad, where he will be looking to add to the 28 caps he has already picked up.

Leeds’ official Twitter account (@LUFC) moved to announce the news on the winger, who has been a regular under Paul Heckingbottom since his appointment at Elland Road.

Dallas has featured in the starting XI in six of Heckingbottom’s seven games in-charge, after finding himself on the fringe under Thomas Christiansen earlier in the season.

Heckingbottom did leave the 26-year-old out of Saturday’s clash with Reading, with Pablo Hernandez and Ezgjan Alioski preferred on the wings.

The Northern Irishman stepped off the bench to replace Hernandez late on, as Leeds were held to a 2-2 draw at the Madejski Stadium.

Dallas will be pushing for a return to the starting XI next weekend, when Leeds welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Elland Road prior to the international break.

The Verdict

Dallas has worked his way back into contention under Heckingbottom, and is more than deserving of his call-up to the Northern Ireland squad.

The winger has proved his worth to Leeds in recent weeks, and was one of those unlucky to miss out on Saturday against Reading.

The 26-year-old will be hoping to contribute against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
