According to TEAMtalk, Paul Clement is set to give both Matt Grimes and Kyle Bartley and opportunity to impress at Swansea City this summer, dealing Leeds United a further blow in their quest to sign the latter.

Both Grimes and Bartley have been at Elland Road on-loan this season, having mixed fortunes with Leeds.

Grimes has hardly featured under Garry Monk, starting just one league game, whilst Bartley was a first-team regular, making 50 appearances across all competitions and captaining Leeds on occasions.

Monk has confirmed he wants to bring Bartley back to Leeds next season, but Clement plans to give the 25-year old a chance at the Liberty Stadium, along with Grimes, he said:

“When I spoke to Matty Grimes and Kyle Bartley at Leeds, I said ‘you’re Swansea players’ and before I look anywhere else I’m going to look at what we have got from within.

“We want people back pre-season to train and we will go from there.”

Bartley helped Leeds to the brink of qualifying for the Sky Bet Championship’s play-offs, with a late season collapse ultimately costing Monk’s side a place in the top-six.

The Whites won just once in their last eight league fixtures, surrendering an eight-point lead to Fulham, who eventually finished sixth.

Leeds fans… Are you expecting Bartley to return to Elland Road? Or should your club be looking elsewhere? Let us know your thoughts!
