Leeds United are set to make an offer in the region of £250,000 for Carlisle winger, Liam McCarron according to the Daily Mail.

Wolves have previously been interested in signing the 18-year-old, although Marcelo Bielsa is said to be confident in striking a deal for McCarron.

This is down to the promise of more first-team opportunities at Leeds, which the Whites boss will hope can convince the promising midfielder to sign up at Elland Road.

The report also claims that Derby County and Sheffield United are interested in signing the League Two winger, who evidently has a bright future ahead of him with a number of teams interested in signing him.

Carlisle's Director of Football, David Holdsworth has recently admitted that the club have received interest in signing McCarron ahead of next season. (quotes sourced from the Daily Mail).

"We have received interest from a number of parties regarding both Jarrad Branthwaite and Liam McCarron."

But it remains unclear as to whether any official bids have been submitted by any of the interested clubs tracking the promisig youngster.

It does seem as though Leeds are one of the frontrunners to sign him, and Bielsa will be hoping to strike a deal for McCarron as soon as possible so that he can turn his attention to his next transfer target as they look to win promotion into the Premier League next season.

The Verdict:

This could prove to be a smart bit of business by the Whites.

He's a player with a bright future ahead of him, and if anyone is able to get the best out of him, it's Marcelo Bielsa.

I don't think he'd feature for the first-team next season, but could thrive in Carlos Corberan's under 23's team until he is ready for first-team action.
