Juan Foyth is looking set to quit Tottenham this summer, with Leeds United aware of the defender and waiting to pounce on his availability.

Leeds are currently top of the Championship table and well placed for a return to the Premier League this season, whether that’s by concluding the campaign or on sporting merit.

Naturally, slight attention is turning to the upcoming transfer window, with Football Insider noting how the Whites are ready to pounce on Foyth, who looks set to quit Spurs this summer.

Previously, Marcelo Bielsa’s side have seen loan enquiries for the versatile defender knocked back, but with Spurs ready to listen to offers for the wantaway Argentine, Leeds are ready to pounce.

Foyth, 22, has managed only 32 appearances across all competitions for Tottenham over the course of his short career.

The defender’s agent told talkSPORT recently that there’s no future for him in North London, paving the way for an exit.

Leeds have run a fine line in terms of their defensive options under Bielsa this season, with Liam Cooper, Ben White and Gaetano Berardi the only senior options.

White is on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion, whilst Berardi’s deal at Elland Road is expiring next month.

The Verdict

Foyth has been linked with Leeds consistently over the course of the last few transfer windows, but nothing has come to fruition.

However, he clearly wants out of Spurs, and with the club open to offers for him, it’s looking likely Leeds might have an opening to finally get their man.

Given the headache Bielsa is facing at centre-back heading into the summer, this could answer a lot of problems.
