Many Leeds fans will argue that the current playing squad doesn't need any additions in January, and that is a valid point with Leeds just two points adrift of league-leaders Sheffield United.

But with a number of young defenders featuring for Marcelo Bielsa's side so far this season, defensive reinforcements may be needed as the hectic festive period is just around the corner.

Tottenham youngster Juan Foyth has been linked with a move to Elland Road, according to AS Argentina, and Bielsa cold be tempted to make a move for the Argentine to strengthen the depth in his back line this season.

Foyth is reported to be unhappy with his current game time and is yet to make a league appearance for the Premier League side since he joined them in August 2017.

The Whites were previously linked with a move for Foyth and the defender played down the chances of joining Bielsa's side but was full of praise for the Leeds manager.

Although he had previously played down the rumours in the past, Foyth could be tempted with a move to Bielsa's side, especially with the side starting the season brightly and they are certainly heading in the right direction in the table.

The Verdict:

Foyth could really benefit from regular first-team football in the near future, especially with the youngster only being restricted to appearances in cup matches for Spurs.

After arriving at Tottenham for £8m in 2017, he certainly has something to prove and I am confident that Marcelo Bielsa could be the man to discover that potential that saw Foyth first join the Premier League side for a hefty fee.
