Leeds United are preparing a stunning £10.5m (€12m) bid for Spartak Moscow striker, Ze Luis according to a report from Championat.

The Russian media outlet claim that the Whites are said to have targeted the striker to add to their attacking depth for the remainder of the season.

The 27-year-old already has 11 goals in his last 24 games for the Russian giants this season, so it's clear to see why he is a striker in demand.

However, the report also claims that Moscow are unwilling to sell the striker who has been in impressive form this season.

If this report is true, then this will be encouraging for Leeds supporters, who would have thought that Marcelo Bielsa wouldn't have been making many more notable signings this month.

Ze Luis also has 17 caps to his name for Cape Verde, where he has been on the scoresheet on two occasions, and he could be a useful addition to have in the Leeds squad.

Leeds have already completed the signing of Kiko Casilla and are nearing the completion of a deal for Ruch Chorzow midfielder, Mateusz Bogusz.

Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping his side can retain their place at the top of the Championship table heading into the second-half of the season, with promotion a real possibility.

The Verdict:

This would send out a real statement to Leeds' promotion rivals.

The Whites are in need of additional competition for Kemar Roofe up-front and Ze Luis would certainly provide that in Marcelo Bielsa's squad.

If they were able to strike a deal to bring him to the club, the Championship title would be Leeds' to lose.
