Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Derby County midfielder Louie Sibley according to Football Insider.

Sibley has caught the eye with a number of impressive performances for Derby last season, and it appears as though his strong showings haven't gone unnoticed.

The youngster made 11 appearances for the Rams last term, as they finished tenth in the Championship table under the management of Phillip Cocu.

He also chipped in with five league goals last term for Derby, in what was an impressive first season in senior football for the 19-year-old.

A move to Elland Road could be a tempting proposition for Sibley though, with Marcelo Bielsa's side now playing their football in the Premier League.

Leeds won promotion from the Championship last season, and are evidently keen to add to their midfield options before the summer transfer window reaches a conclusion on Friday.

Derby County are set to return to action on Friday evening, when they take on Watford, in what is certain to be a tricky test for Phillip Cocu's side.

The Verdict:

This could be an excellent addition to the Leeds team.

Sibley was brilliant for Derby County last season, and I'm not surprised to hear that he's attracting interest from a club the size of Leeds United.

Marcelo Bielsa certainly strikes me as the sort of manager that could make Sibley even better than he currently is, and I think the Whites would be making a smart addition if they were to land his signature.

You would imagine that Derby are eager to keep Sibley at the club for the foreseeable future though, so Leeds will have to fight hard to secure a deal to sign the youngster.
