Leeds United are to open talks with Liverpool regarding a move for Rhian Brewster.

Marcelo Bielsa's side are keen to strengthen their attacking options as they prepare for the second half of their push for promotion in the Championship.

The need for a striker comes after reports suggesting that Eddie Nketiah could be recalled from his current loan spell in January.

The Arsenal youngster has been used as a backup to Patrick Bamford so far this term, and with the Gunners less than happy with the arrangements, they could look to recall him and move him to another Championship club.

That leaves a spot in Bielsa's squad with Football Insider reporting that Brewster is thought to be the number one target.

The report claims that Leeds are preparing a pitch - similar to that which was presented to Arsenal and Eddie Nketiah - in a bid to convince Brewster to move to Elland Road.

The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the hottest properties in English football and is set to have a host of clubs scrambling for his signature as he goes in search of regular first team football.

Brewster is very much part of Jurgen Klopp's plans at Liverpool, but it's thought that a loan switch could be the perfect way to continue his development.
