Leeds United winger Hadi Sacko is set to join Turkish side Ankaragucu on loan for the rest of this season after his spell with Las Palmas was terminated early.

As reported by Turkish outlet AS Spor, the 24-year-old attended the Eryaman Stadium this week to watch his new side in action ahead of a deal.

He posed for the cameras outside the ground, adding validity to the claims.

Sacko began life at Bordeaux and later moved to Sporting Lisbon as his career threatened to take off.

He represented France up to Under 20 level and seemed set for a glittering career.

His promise has stalled significantly, he swapped France for Mali in 2018 after failing to secure senior honours for Les Bleus.

Just four outings for Sporting's first team saw him transferred to Leeds in the summer of 2017 following a season-long loan.

He played sporadically under Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom, making just five appearances all season. That marked him out as a fringe player and he was swiftly loaned out by Marcelo Bielsa in the summer.

The Verdict

There's really no surprise at all here.

Sacko has flopped at Sporting, flopped at Leeds and flopped at Las Palmas.

He needs this move to work, at 24-years-old he's in real danger of becoming a 'nearly man', someone with promise at 20, but on the scrapheap four years later.

All Leeds will surely want is a fee in the summer, no matter how much it is. He won't be back in white, that I'm sure of.
