Leeds United have had their fair share of injuries this season but Marcelo Bielsa is finally starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Stuart Dallas and Gaetano Berardi are expected to step up their recovery efforts, as they turn out for the Leeds under 23's side.

The Leeds boss revealed to the Yorkshire Evening Post, that the pair are expected to return to for the Leeds youth side this week, before making a long-awaited return to the first-team picture.

Dallas' return to action has come considerably earlier than first expected, as BBC Sport had previously reported that he was set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The Northern Irish international broke his foot in December, but picked up an ankle injury as he edged closer to a return.

Whereas Berardi has been out of action since the win over Ipswich Town towards the end of October 2018 with a hamstring injury.

Head of Leeds' medical team, Rob Price had revealed to the Yorkshire Evening Post that Berardi had decided against having season-ending surgery to help play his part in Leeds' promotion bid.

Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping that the pair can come through the under 23's games unscathed, so that they can provide the Leeds boss with a welcome selection headache.

Leeds will be hoping to keep the pressure on Norwich City at the top of the table with a positive result against Swansea on Wednesday evening.

The Verdict:

What a boost this is for Leeds!

Both Dallas and Berardi might not be the first-choice options for Marcelo Bielsa, but they are useful options to have available to the Leeds boss.

Leeds need depth in their squad heading towards the end of the season, and the pair will certainly provide them with that as they challenge for promotion back to the Premier League.
