Leeds United midfielder Eunan O'Kane could be on his way out of the club this summer.

Charlton Athletic want to sign O'Kane, as per The Yorkshire Evening Post.

Lee Bowyer, a former Leeds midfielder, is Charlton manager and he wants to raid his former club for O'Kane.

The Republic of Ireland international, who has seven caps to his name, has been frozen out by Marcelo Bielsa this summer and he has been forced to train with the under-23 squad.

O'Kane does not feature in Bielsa's plans and is being allowed to move this summer, despite signing a four year deal last season.

Formerly of Bournemouth, the 28-year-old joined Leeds in 2016 and has played 58 games for the club in total.

O'Kane could follow fellow central midfielders Ronaldo Vieira and Luke Murphy out of the club after they joined Sampdoria and Bolton Wanderers respectively, while Adam Forshaw is sidelined with injury.

The Verdict

O'Kane's future at Leeds looks bleak and an exit makes sense for all parties, whether that be a permanent move or a loan switch.

He is simply not good enough for what Bielsa requires and he is surplus to requirements at the club.

But he would be an excellent addition for a League One club and would probably dictate the play in a third tier midfield.
