It's clear to see that the debate amongst the Elland Road faithful over whether Marcelo Bielsa should start either Patrick Bamford or Eddie Nketiah in their league matches is going to be the topic of conversation for the majority of this year's campaign.

Bamford has started all of Leeds' league games so far, which has led to Nketiah struggling for game time since signing on loan from Arsenal in the summer.

The Gunners youngster will have been keen to fill the sizeable void left in the side by Kemar Roofe, who scored 14 league goals for the Whites last season before moving to Belgian side R.S.C Anderlecht in the summer.

But Nketiah hasn't had the loan spell he would have hoped for at Elland Road, even though he has scored as many goals as Bamford so far this season, that's despite making just nine appearances in all competitions to date which include seven appearances as a substitute for the Arsenal loanee.

Nketiah's lack of game time hasn't gone unnoticed, with reports emerging that Arsenal are considering recalling the striker early from his loan spell with Leeds, in a move that could happen when the January transfer window opens.

If the Arsenal youngster was to depart, it would leave Marcelo Bielsa with a lack of recognised options in attack for the remainder of the season.

But one man that would see Nketiah's potential recall as a blessing in disguise if Ryan Edmondson, who hasn't had a look-in this season under Bielsa.

The Whites youngster only made one substitute appearance for the first team in last year's campaign, which came as a surprise with Edmondson being a key member of the Leeds under 23's side that won the league title.

So, when Nketiah arrived in the summer transfer window, many would have thought that Edmondson would be loaned out to further his development in senior football - although that hasn't been the case .

But with rumours circulating that Nketiah could be returning to the Emirates Stadium in the next coming months, Edmondson could be handed an Elland Road lifeline to challenge for a spot in the first team starting XI for the remainder of the season.

It's set to be an interesting few months ahead, and Arsenal will have no patience when it comes to recalling Nketiah, especially if he continues to be frozen out of the Leeds starting XI under Marcelo Bielsa.
