As we approach the New Year, Leeds United will be looking to build a gap between second and third position as they look to cement their promotion bid in the Sky Bet Championship.

An impressive 1-0 win away to Sheffield United, and promotion rivals West Brom being held to a 1-1 draw with Brentford, means that Marcelo Bielsa’s men now sit four points clear of the play-off places, with automatic promotion very much on the agenda.

Injuries to several key players has been Leeds’ Achilles heel this term, and with the January transfer window fast approaching, the Whites have been linked with various players ahead of a busy winter.

It’s clear that their defence needs bolstering, what with injuries to the likes of Liam Cooper and Luke Ayling in recent weeks, but another area they should be focusing on is their attack line.

Kemar Roofe has done a fantastic job when leading the line for Leeds this term, netting eight goals this season, but when he was ruled out of action in the earlier stages of the campaign, the Whites struggled.

Tyler Roberts failed to live up to expectations, and Patrick Bamford was also out of action with a long-term injury - so they really do need to add another striker in January.

Juventus starlet Moise Kean has been a name linked with a move to Elland Road, and what a signing he’d be.

It wasn’t long ago when the 18-year old was being labelled as the next big star, with European giants such as Manchester United and Arsenal reportedly vying for his signature.

Fast forward a year or so however, and Kean’s career has stagnated slightly, having made just two appearances for the Italian side this season, after an average loan spell at Chievo Verona.

Having played in the Champions League, Kean already has some experience under his belt on the grandest stage of them all, and his pace and skill up front has also reportedly attracted the likes of Marseille.

If Bielsa could manage to tempt him with a move to Elland Road, then it would be a master stroke from the Argentinian, and Leeds need to make this their main priority in January.
