Leeds United are set to sell midfielder, Yosuke Ideguchi after Marcelo Bielsa allowed the Japanese international to depart according to Football Insider.

The 22-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the Leeds senior team, after he arrived in January 2018, on a four-year-deal at Elland Road.

Ideguchi evidently wasn't favoured by Bielsa, having been sent out on loan during the summer of 2018, where he signed for German side, Greuther Furth for the season.

But he suffered a serious knee injury which limited his game time over this year's campaign, although he made a timely return to action before the season reached a conclusion.

In total, Ideguchi made seven appearances out on loan, but that seemingly hasn't been enough to convince the Leeds boss that he has a future at the Yorkshire-based club.

Football Insider revealed that Bielsa and Victor Orta have discussed which players they are keen to move on in the summer, and have identified Ideguchi as one that could generate a sizeable fee.

The Argentine will be keen to add to his squad ahead of next season, and it seems as though he will only be able to do that if player sales occur.

An interesting summer awaits at Elland Road, as Leeds look to go one step better than this season and win promotion back to the Premier League in next year's campaign.

The Verdict:

This is the best move for both parties.

Ideguchi has been really unlucky with injuries recently, but he was never going to force his way into Marcelo Bielsa's plans anytime soon.

Leeds need a rebuild over the summer, and trimming the wage bill will be their top priority, so I'm sure this won't be the only departure we see from Elland Road before next season.
