Championship club Leeds United appear to have completed one final signing right under the noses of just about everyone.

Montenegro under-21 striker Oliver Sarkic seems to have joined the Yorkshire club’s under-23 squad from Benfica's B team.

There has been no official announcement from the club that Sarkic has joined but the youngster is now listed as a Leeds player on the online database transfermarkt and he also retweeted a tweet from an unofficial Benfica news account claiming he had joined Leeds.

According to transfermarkt, the 20-year-old, who has scored five times in 43 games for Benfica B, signed for Leeds one day before the transfer deadline day.

Sarkic joins Ousama Siddiki, Kun Temenuzhkov and Adrian Balboa who have all signed for the under-23s this season and who all play as strikers.

United’s under-23s are next in action against Charlton Athletic.

The Verdict

It’s understandable why Leeds haven’t made a huge announcement regarding the signing of Oliver Sarkic.

Many think that the 20-year-old has a lot of potential but his time at Benfica didn’t show much in the way of any development.

There is no saying how much of a success the young striker will be for the Leeds under-23s but if nothing else, he will bolster the squad out.
