Sky Bet League Two side Stevenage are interested in signing Leeds United youngster Sam Dalby on loan this month, according to reports from Football Insider.

The Hertfordshire club have reportedly opened talks with Leeds as they look to pursue the young forward, with Dino Maamria's men looking to secure a play-off finish come the end of the season.

The powerful forward signed for Leeds from Leyton Orient in the summer, where he came through the youth ranks and scored one professional goal in nineteen games for the National League side.

Dalby is yet to make a senior appearance for the Whites, but has been a regular in Carlos Corberan's under-23 side this season, where the likes of Jamie Shackleton and Jack Clarke also impressed before emerging as first-team regulars.

The Whites currently sit at the top of the Sky Bet Championship, four points clear of 3rd position, as Marcelo Bielsa's men prepare to face Stoke City this weekend.

The Verdict

This could be the best move for both parties - Dalby probably isn't ready for the first-team just yet, so a loan move to League Two could be beneficial in his development.

One thing that must really please Leeds fans is the amount of youngsters that are featuring under Bielsa, and they will no doubt be looking at Dalby as another exciting option for the future.

The likes of Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton have been sensational for Leeds this season, and it really does show that the future of the club is in good hands.
