Leeds United need just four points from their final three games to guarantee a return to the Premier League.

That's after Marcelo Bielsa's men picked up a crucial win at Swansea City thanks to a late strike from Pablo Hernandez. The Whites weren't at their free-flowing best in Wales but they gradually started to dominate and the Spaniard grabbed the crucial goal in the 89th minute.

The decisive strike sparked wild scenes among the players and the bench as everyone connected to the club understood just how important the win was.

And, left-back Barry Douglas took to Twitter to praise his teammates for the character they showed and he also singled out the classy Hernandez after his contribution.

"Relentlessness personified 👏🏼 great character and belief from the troops to keep going until the last minute (which is a given) 💪🏽 then the Spanish magician does his thing 🧙🏼‍♂️ done now and onto the next one."

The Yorkshire outfit are back in action on Thursday when they welcome Barnsley to Elland Road.

The verdict

You can't argue with what Douglas has said here, the team showed they have a great mentality as they continued to push for the win despite not playing at their best throughout.

That's the sign of a good team and when you consider what happened last season, it shows the players are determined to put that right.

Of course, there's still work that needs to be done but four points from the final three fixtures that Leeds have seems a formality and the group will be desperate for the Barnsley game to come around.
