Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw insists that the team cannot get carried away even though they currently occupy the second automatic promotion spot.

The Whites secured a huge win against rivals Sheffield United last time out and with results elsewhere also going their way, Marcelo Bielsa's side now have a four-point cushion over third place.

However, Forshaw indicated to the club's media that it's far too early in the campaign to start thinking ahead and called on the team to keep on improving.

"We're not half way through the season. We've had a good start, but we can still improve. We've got a great togetherness, and the players are ready for Saturday."

Leeds will be looking for a fourth consecutive win this weekend when they face a QPR side that have struggled in recent games.

There is still over half of the season to play though as we approach the very hectic Christmas schedule.

Bielsa's side are due to play six league games between now and New Years Day which includes fixtures against promotion rivals Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.

The Verdict

This is a very sensible message from Forshaw and you can't imagine for a second that Bielsa will allow the players to get ahead of themselves.

It's a cliché but Leeds just need to concentrate on the next game as the Championship is so unpredictable.

However, the optimism with the fans is understandable and they will believe that they can finally return to the top-flight next season.
