Romario Vieira has taken to his personal Twitter account to express his delight after making Thomas Christiansen’s matchday squad for Leeds United’s clash with Hull City earlier this week.

Leeds headed to the KCOM Stadium low on numbers on Tuesday evening, with Christiansen putting faith in Vieira and Tom Pearce, who were selected amongst the substitutes as the Whites played out a goalless draw with Hull.

Both Vieira and Pearce watched on as unused substitutes, with Vieira’s brother, Ronaldo Vieira, completing 90 minutes in the centre of midfield alongside debutant, Adam Forshaw.

The 19-year-old has been a regular for Leeds’ development squad in recent years, but has not challenged the first-team like his brother, who was a regular last season under Garry Monk and has continued that under Christiansen.

Regardless, Vieira now seems to be knocking on the door of senior football, with the midfielder taking to Twitter to deliver a message following the Hull clash, which read:

Following Tuesday’s goalless draw at the KCOM Stadium, Leeds return to Elland Road this weekend to face Cardiff City.

Christiansen’s side have slipped down to 10th, where they sit four points adrift of the play-off zone.

The Verdict

Vieira’s delight at securing a place in the matchday 18 is clear, with the teenager now beginning to feel like he is making progress.

If the 19-year-old can have half the impact his brother has had, there is every chance that he will become a first-teamer at Elland Road.

Exciting times for Vieira and Leeds.
