A number of League One sides are interested in a move for Leeds United striker Pawel Cibicki, a report from Swedish outlet Fotboll Direkt has claimed.

Cibicki is currently on a season-long loan with Dutch top tier side ADO Den Haag - who recently appointed a certain Alan Pardew as their manager - although things have not been altogether successful for the 25-year-old.

The Leeds-owned striker has so far made just four appearances in all competitions for Den Haag, who currently find themselves second from bottom in the Eredivisie standings.

As a result, reports from Cibicki's native Sweden have now suggested that the striker's spell in Holland could be brought to a premature end by Leeds, in favour of sending him elsewhere, with several unnamed sides from the third tier of English football said to be interested in signing the attacker.

Since joining Leeds from Malmo in the summer of 2017, Cibicki has made just ten appearances in total for the Elland Road club, having also spent spells on loan with Molde and Elfsborg.

There are currently 18 months remaining on Cibicki's contract with Leeds, securing his future with the club until the end of next season.

The Verdict

It feels like this is something that needs to happen for Cibicki.

His loan with Den Haag is not giving him the opportunities he would have wanted it to, and the way Leeds are going right now means it will be almost impossible for him to force his way into their side.

A move to a League One club would therefore give him the opportunity to get that regular playing time he continues to search for, and potentially gets the goals he needs to rejuvenate his career.

If he doesn't do that, then it is hard to see where he will go from there, although with things stalling for him as they are anyway, it seems that is a chance he has to try and take.
