Leeds United are closing in on the free signing of Polish goalkeeper Kamil Miazek, according to Leeds United academy scout Jakub Bokiej.

The 21-year-old has been on trial with the Whites since the end of September, and club scout Jakob Bokiej has confirmed that a contract offer is on the table.

The Pole began his career in Dutch football with Eredivisie champions Feyenoord, before heading back to Poland having earned a contract with Chojniczanka Chojnice.

Miazek enjoyed a trial at Barnsley earlier in the summer which ultimately came to nothing, and will link up with Leeds U23 squad for now while he integrates into life at Elland Road.

The Verdict

Leeds have a range of scouts combing the European game for top talent, and it appears that Bokiej has identified yet another potential young star to join Thomas Christiansen’s Elland Road revolution.

Not many on these shores will have heard of the Pole, but having progressed through the ranks at Feyenoord, the youngster certainly has the potential to play at the highest level.

Bolstering the academy and bringing young players into the first team set-up has always been a strong philosophy at the Yorkshire club, and Miazek will feel confident that he can one day break into the starting XI.

Inspired by former Brentford and Arsenal goalkeeper, and current Juventus shot-stopper Wojciech Szczęsny, Miazek has a long way to go before he emulates the success of the Polish number one.
