Leeds United have made a move to sign promising Manchester City attacker Lukas Nmecha, who is set to leave the champions on loan this summer.

The 19-year old, who has represented England at various youth levels, is very highly-rated by Pep Guardiola, however first-team opportunities are obviously going to be very limited under the Spaniard.

Therefore, he was set to move out on a temporary basis this season, with West Brom and Swansea thought to be leading the chase for the teenager.

Yet, Sun journalist Alan Nixon has revealed that the Whites have made a late move to land the forward and could win the race.

Guardiola is a known admirer of Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, appreciating the attack-minded football that he demands from his team.

And, Nixon states that the influence of Pep could see Nmecha playing at Elland Road next season.

If he does make the move to the Yorkshire club, he would be the second City player to do so, with winger Jack Harrison joining earlier in the week.

The Verdict

This would be a very exciting addition to Leeds as Nmecha is a player with great potential.

It would also be a signing that the team needs, as they are short on real quality up top. Even though Patrick Bamford joined, they still could do with an additional option.

So, if Bielsa can use his friendship with Guardiola then why not? It seems a move that would benefit all parties.
