Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich has reportedly accepted a fresh contract offer from the club to extend his stay at Elland Road according to Football Insider.

Klich's contract with the Whites is set to expire at the end of this year's campaign, and the club are seemingly keen to have his future resolved at the earliest of opportunities.

He has been a key member of Marcelo Bielsa's squad in recent seasons, with Klich not missing a single league match for Leeds last term as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League after a defeat to Derby in their play-off semi-final.

The Polish international has been a regular in the Leeds team this season, having started all of their league games so far in the midfield alongside the likes of Adam Forshaw and Kalvin Phillips.

If Klich was to sign a new deal with the Yorkshire-based club, then he wouldn't be the first one to do so this season.

Leeds have already tied down Kalvin Phillips, Luke Ayling, Stuart Dallas and Liam Cooper to new contracts already this term, and they'll be keen to have Klich's new deal resolved as soon as possible.

He had previously been attracting interest from Burnley earlier this year (according to the Daily Mail), although a formal bid was never registered by Sean Dyche's men.

Klich will be hoping that he can be involved for Leeds' game this weekend, when they take on Millwal, in what will be a tricky test at The Den.

The Verdict:

This will be a real boost for the Whites.

Klich has kicked on from his impressive season last term, and is likely to be one of the first names on Marcelo Bielsa's teamsheet each week.

He's shown an eye for goal in midfield, and compliments the likes of Kalvin Phillips well, and he's emerged as a real fans favourite at Elland Road.

Supporters will be delighted if this recent report turns out to be true.
