Leeds United have made contact with West Ham United with an interest in midfielder Domingos Quina reports the Mirror's live blog (14:00)

Quina has one year left on his current deal at the Hammers, but Leeds will face competition for his signature with Newcastle United also showing an interest.

The 18-year-old has been very limited with the amount of game time he has received at the London Stadium, mainly being used in cup matches.

Since Marcelo Bielsa took over the reigns at Elland Road fans have been excited at the prospect of challenging for promotion.

But over the last two weeks they have become frustrated with how their transfer dealings are going.

Deals that once looked dead certs are now seemingly dead, with deals for David Stockdale, Matej Vydra and Kyle Bartley crumbling.

The verdict

He would be an ok signing for Leeds, but will not be one to excite the fans especially if he is another loan.

Bielsa and the rest of Leeds United really need to pick up the intensity in this window if they are to launch a serious promotion campaign.

A seeming lack of back up options to their first choices looks like costing them right now. Quina would add decent depth to their midfield after the signing of Lewis Baker, but there is so much more to do at Leeds.
