Leeds United’s Pontus Jansson has taken to his personal Twitter account to deliver a message to his teammates following Saturday’s superb victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.
Jansson was surprisingly dropped from Garry Monk’s starting 11, having to settle for a place amongst the substitutes, as Liam Cooper replaced him in defence.
Monk’s side put in a fine display to topple title-chasing Brighton 2-0, thanks to a brace from leading scorer Chris Wood, to remain fourth in the Sky Bet Championship table.
The Swedish international reflected on the result 24 hours later, but failed to mention his surprise omission, he tweeted: “Really proud to see our performance yesterday and we showed that we really are a strong team together.”

The Whites have a two-week international break before their next fixture and Jansson will be away with the Swedish national team, where he will be hoping to influence their chances of World Cup qualification.
Monk’s side begin their Championship run-in on April 1st, when they travel to the Madejski Stadium to face Play-Off rivals Reading, where it remains to be seen if Jansson will earn a recall to the starting 11.
