Leeds United have reportedly registered their interest in signing Rayo Vallecano midfielder Adrián Embarba in this month's transfer window according to Mundo Deportivo.

The report also claims that both West Ham United and Norwich City are also keen to land his signature before the transfer window closes.

Embarba has been in impressive form this season in the Spanish second tier, and already has seven goals and 11 assists to his name in all competitions this term.

It seems as though these impressive showings have caught the eye of a number of clubs, and he could be set for a January departure in the near future.

It is claimed that any potential deal for the Spaniard will cost in the region of £4.5m, and there is set to be a transfer tussle to try and come to an agreement with Embarba.

Marcelo Bielsa's side could certainly benefit from adding much-needed depth to their striking options in the near future, with Adam Forshaw and Tyler Roberts currently sidelined through injury.

The Whites are currently sat second in the Championship table, and will be hoping they can break out of a poor run of form which has seen their advantage over their promotion rivals cut in recent weeks.

Leeds are next in action on 28th January when they take on play-off chasing Millwall, who will provide Marcelo Bielsa's side with a tricky test at Elland Road.

The Verdict:

This could prove to be a smart signing by Leeds if they pull it off.

Embarba's record speaks for itself this season, and with seven goals and 11 assists to his name, Marcelo Bielsa's side would be getting a player in fine form.

I have my doubts as to whether they'll be able to strike a deal with the midfielder though, as he's attracting interest from the likes of West Ham and Norwich City already this year.

Leeds will have to do something special to land his signature ahead of the Premier League clubs this month.
