Leeds United target Sol Bamba could be on his way to Middlesbrough, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The YEP understands that the defender’s agent has been in touch with Boro about a possible move to the Riverside Stadium.
But Leeds have not ruled out the possibility of striking a deal with the Ivory Coast international.
The 30-year-old joined the Whites on loan from Italian side Palermo in January and made 19 appearances, scoring once.
The West Yorkshire club had an agreement in place with Palermo which would see Bamba join on a permanent deal, and their interest in signing the him has not been affected by his criticism of Massimo Cellino’s management in an interview last month.
Leeds have not wasted any time in looking at other targets and Reading defender Alex Pearce is said to be one of them, but he seems reluctant to move to Yorkshire.
Bamba has yet to agree to deal with the Whites and the situation is likely to come to a conclusion later this month when the loan deal with Palermo expires.
The former Leicester City defender has two years left on his contract with the Italian club but does not appear to be a part of their plans.
