According to ESPN, Leeds United are considering a sensational move for Danny Ings during the January transfer window.

Thomas Christiansen’s side are looking for a Premier League return this year, and reports suggest that they are considering brining Danny Ings to Elland Road during the transfer window to improve their chance.

Ings has been with Liverpool since the summer of 2015, but has struggled to make an impact at Anfield, with injuries limiting the striker to 12 appearances for the Reds.

Prior to his move to Merseyside, Ings was impressive for Burnley in both the Premier League and Sky Bet Championship – scoring 21 league goals for the Turf Moor outfit during their promotion campaign in 2013/14.

The 25-year-old’s limited opportunities under Jurgen Klopp have opened the door to a potential departure, with Leeds keen to add the striker to their armoury in January.

The Whites have enjoyed an impressive start to the Championship season, and after two months, sit inside the division’s play-off zone.

Christiansen’s side have picked up 20 points this season, leaving them fifth, four points behind leaders, Cardiff City.

Leeds head into this weekend’s international break on a worrying run of form, having lost three of their last four Championship fixtures.

The Verdict

Ings would be an unbelievable addition to Leeds’ squad, with the striker having the potential to fire the Whites back into the Premier League during the second-half of the season.

Cracks are beginning to show at Elland Road after a positive start, and the likelihood is that Christiansen’s squad will need strengthening during the January transfer window.

Reports linking Leeds with Ings will certainly excite the club’s supporters, who after a strong start to the season, are hoping for a major challenge.
