Leeds United are today being linked with a shock move for Derby County striker Matej Vydra.

Reported in the Sun on Sunday, print edition, Sunday 9th June, it is claimed that the Whites are exploring the possibility of making a £10m move for the former Watford striker.

Vydra, who has also had spells with Reading and Udinese, was the top scorer in the Championship last term with 22 goals, and might well be used as a big money sale to fund Frank Lampard's squad overhaul this summer following his appointment with the Rams.

The report also claims that Leeds could well offer full back Tom Pearce as part of a cash plus player option, and this is something which the Rams could well be more open too.

However, new Derby manager Lampard will surely not want to lose his star man as he looks to get his club promoted to the Premier League after seeing them fall at the playoff stage last season once again.

Lampard will be perfectly aware that goals are needed to get out of the league, and losing Vydra will be a bitter blow to any chances the Rams might have.

Leeds on the otherhand are still without a manager, which could well put paid to any potential move for the striker.

Leeds and Derby fans, what do you think to this? Big signing? Let us know in the comments!
