Leeds United are reportedly lining up a loan move for Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers this summer, according to the Irish Sun

Travers played in the Cherries final two matches of the Premier League season against Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace but is yet to be told of his ranking in the club's pecking order for next season.

As a result, he is apparently considering a loan move away from the Vitality, alerting Mareclo Bielsa and Leeds as well as newly promoted Norwich City.

The 20-year-old has recently been called up to Mick McCarthy's Republic of Ireland squad but is yet to make his debut and is keen to be playing regular first-team football in order to stay in his plans.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell started the previous season as Bielsa's number one at Elland Road but was replaced by Real Madrid's Kiko Casilla during the January transfer window.

However, following a host of dodgy performances towards the end of the season, as well as costly errors in the play-offs, Casilla's future is in doubt - despite signing a four-and-a-half year deal at he club.

The verdict

I think this would be a good signing for Leeds.

Travers is clearly a talented goalkeeper and would jump at the chance to play first-team football in an environment such as that at Elland Road.

I still believe that Bailey Peacock-Farrell should, and probably will, be given another chance starting in goal next season but this would certainly create some healthy competition.

If they could off-load Casilla and his no-doubt hefty wages then, they absolutely should.
