Leeds United and Birmingham City are heavily interested in Wycombe Wanderers defender Aaron Pierre, as his contract expires in the summer, according to Sunday’s print edition of The Sunday People (25/09/16) via the Birmingham Mail.
The commanding centre half has been influential at the back for the Chairboys, ever since joining from Brentford in 2014, following an impressive loan spell at Adams Park, and has gone on to make 83 appearances for the club.
Wanderers rejected a bid from an unnamed club for the defender on transfer deadline day last month, with Peterborough United, Swindon Town and Coventry City all heavily linked with Pierre.
However, both Leeds and the Blues have joined Barnsley in tracking the 23-year-old’s progress this term, ahead of a potential bargain move in January.
Gareth Ainsworth’s men sit in 21st place in the League Two table after nine games played, with just two wins, two draws, and five losses.
