According to Spanish media outlet, Super Deporte, Leeds United are interested in signing Valencia’s Alvaro Negredo.

Negredo is out-of-favour with the La Liga side, and could potentially be on the move again this summer, with Leeds interested in the striker.

Leeds’ Director of Football, Victor Orta, has plenty of connections in Spain, and was influential in taking Negredo to Middlesbrough on a season-long loan last year.

The 31-year-old striker scored nine goals for Boro in the Premier League last season, but could not prevent the Teessiders suffering relegation from the top-flight before returning to Valencia.

Negredo has already turned down moves to China and Turkey, and Leeds could potentially be another club to show an interest in the Spanish striker.

Leeds were heavily reliant on the goals of Chris Wood in the Sky Bet Championship last season, and Thomas Christiansen has been looking to add more of a goalscoring threat to his squad already this summer.

Caleb Ekuban has already arrived at Elland Road, but it remains to be seen if the inexperienced striker can compete with Wood for a starting berth in Christiansen’s side.

Christiansen has also brought Samuel Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski to Elland Road, with the hope that the duo can add goals from midfield.
