Leeds United increasingly hopeful of sealing deal for Manchester United man

Ashley Fletcher is prepared to reject a new contract at Manchester United and leave Old Trafford so he can join Leeds, according to Football Insider which cites reports from the YEP.

The striker’s contract runs out this month and Fletcher doesn’t seem interested in extending his time there due to there reluctance to loan him out.

The 18-year-old played a starring role in Barnsley’s promotion from League 1 scoring 6 goals in 23 games including one in the play-off final against Millwall, and Leeds are hoping to convince the striker to reject a new contract at Manchester United and join them.

He is a player for the big occasion scoring in the play-off final and the Johnstones Paint Trophy final against Oxford.

Leeds owner Massimo Cellino is reportedly very impressed in the youngster and wants a permanent move, after they were quoted £3 million for Kemar Roofe.

They are open to a loan deal though with Fletcher having never played a game for Manchester United making it likely he will never fulfill his dream.

But Leeds are in desperate need of strikers for the new term after Mirco Antenucci left at the end of the season.
